LA GRANGE, N.C. — Representative Chris Humphrey and Senator Jim Perry joined forces to allocate state funding for the much-anticipated renovation project at the La Grange Arts Council. The announcement was made earlier this week during a ceremonial check presentation attended by Arts Council members, Maxine Cooper, Carol Murphy, Judy Poteat, Rhonda Monsees, and Penny Dawson.

In a show of bipartisan support for the arts and cultural enrichment, Representative Chris Humphrey and Senator Jim Perry worked diligently to secure funding in the state budget for the La Grange Arts Council's renovation initiative. The project aims to enhance the facilities and expand the Council's capacity to serve the community through various artistic programs and events.

“Investing in the arts is an investment in the heart of our community,” said Humphrey, “The La Grange Arts Council has been a cornerstone of cultural expression in Lenoir County, and we are proud to support their efforts to create an even more vibrant and accessible space for residents to engage with the arts.”

The La Grange Arts Council plays a pivotal role in promoting local artists, fostering creativity, and providing a platform for cultural exchange. The renovation project, made possible by the dedicated efforts of Representatives Humphrey and Senator Perry, represents a significant step towards ensuring the Council's continued impact on the cultural landscape of Lenoir County.

The renovation project is expected to commence in the coming months.
