On November 17, UNC Health Lenoir held its annual food drive, “Feastival of Foods”. Teammates from throughout the hospital came together to provide over 7000 pounds of food for Lenoir County residents in need. Donation boxes were placed in each hospital department in October and employees filled those boxes to the brim. At the culmination of the event on November 17 the food was weighed and prepared for distribution.

According to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina, one in five people in our area do not have enough to eat. Feastival of Food provided groceries, including a Thanksgiving turkey, to seventeen families and several local food pantries and agencies. The UNC Health Lenoir Cancer Center food pantry was also restocked.

“Our team’s enthusiasm and generosity for this project always amazes me. Our employees genuinely care about each other and our community and want to share their resources with others. We have been doing this project for over 20 years and it’s always rewarding to see how our team responds.” stated Paula Hinson, Feastival of Foods Chairperson.
