GCMS Math Teacher honored by State Organization
Snow Hill - In early November, Ricardo Arias, 7th Grade Math Teacher at Greene County Middle School was honored by the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) as the Outstanding Secondary Teacher of 2022-2023. According to the NCCTM website, the award is given each year. It explained that “ school principals in North Carolina schools are encouraged to nominate the teacher they believe does the most effective job teaching mathematics in their school. From those nominated, each LEA selected one teacher to represent the best in mathematics teaching from the entire system.”

Next year he will be leaving the classroom and completing his internship as an Assistant Principal.
