At the Lenoir County Board of Education meeting held on Monday, December 11, 2023, Bruce Hill emerged as the new Chair, while WD Anderson secured the position of Vice Chair.

The meeting also delved into the important matter of replacing Keith King, who had recently resigned from the Lenoir County School Board. King's departure was prompted by his decision to fill the remainder of Chad Rouse's term, who had resigned as a commissioner.

Bruce Hill's nomination for the position of Chair was met with a notable vote, resulting in a 4-1 decision in his favor, with Michelle Cash being the sole dissenting voice. Hill expressed his gratitude, stating, "I would like to thank the board for allowing me the opportunity to serve as board chair."

Subsequently, WD Anderson was nominated and voted in for the role of Vice Chair of the Lenoir County School Board, with Cash as the only dissenting vote.
