On Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023, members of the Kinston Police Department, SWAT Team, and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, Special Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence near the 700 block of W. Lenoir Ave. Kinston, N.C. The warrant was a direct result of ongoing cases being investigated regarding the recent theft of a motor vehicle and homicide. As tactical team members made entry into the residence one of the occupants opened fire with a 9mm handgun at officers. No officers returned fire and no one was injured. The suspect, Terima Arden (47), was taken into custody for Felony Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer and placed in the Lenoir County Jail.
