Arendell Parrott Academy's Maxwell Andrews receives Morehead-Cain Scholarship
Maxwell Andrews receives the Morehead-Cain Scholarship. Max is a student at Arendell Parrott Academy. He is the son of Brent and Susan Andrews. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a member of the Cum Laude Chapter, a four-time Presidential Service Scholar, a Governor’s Volunteer Service Award recipient, and an Eagle Scout. Max co-founded “Patriots for The Planet” an environmental club at APA. He has served as class president all four years of high school. He performed as Mr. Bingley in APA’s production of “Pride and Prejudice.” Max works at the Yellowfin Pub in Morehead City. He has been an employee since tenth grade. He enjoys serving in his church, his school, and his community. Max plans to major in computer science and minor in Spanish.
We congratulate Max on this prestigious accomplishment and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. Max is a young man of great character and a leader in and outside the classroom walls.
When Max was notified of receiving the Morehead-Cain he immediately Facetimed his mom at work. “I was screaming, ‘I got it, I got the Morehead!’ and my mom was crying. “ After sharing the news with his mom, Max went to his grandparents’ house to tell them. “My grandparents have been instrumental in my life.”
