HOUSING REPAIR ASSISTANCE

CITY OF KINSTON FY 22 URGENT REPAIR PROGRAM

The City of Kinston requests that residents who are very low income homeowners with urgent housing repair needs apply for housing repair assistance. Applications can be obtained starting now by contacting, Elizabeth Blount at the City of Kinston’s Planning Department at 252-939-3269 or by visiting ci.kinston.nc.us. The deadline to submit an application is April 31 before 5:00 pm. The City of Kinston will select approximately ten (10) dwelling units to receive housing rehabilitation assistance. Eligible households must be very low income, owner occupied, have an urgent repair need, have a special need: (eligible military veteran, elderly (> 62 years of age), handicapped or disabled, single parent, Elevated Blood Level (EBL) child, or large household (5 people or more), and live within the City limits or Extraterritorial Jurisdiction. A household is determined to be very low income based on the following income chart:

The City of Kinston’s Urgent Repair Program (URP 22) is financed with $132,000 of Urgent Repair Funds received by the City of Kinston from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency.
