Arrest Made in Kinston Paramedic Shooting Case

UPDATE

The Kinston Police Department obtained warrants for Brennan Dijuon Hill (23) of Kinston for the following charges in regard to Sunday’s shooting of a Lenoir County Paramedic.

  • 5 counts - Attempted First Degree Murder

  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon with the Intent to Kill (AWDWIKISI)

  • 3 counts - Assault with a Deadly Weapon Emergency Person

Brennan Dijuon Hill

On Monday, May 29, 2023, officers with the Kinston Police Department apprehended Hill for the above charges. Hill was taken to the Magistrate where he was placed under a secured bond and released to the custody of the Lenoir County Jail.

This case is still under investigation. The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city. ORIGINAL STORY

Shooting/ Attempted Murder Investigation

On 05/28/2023 Officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to the area of Jack Rountree regarding an EMS paramedic that had been shot. The paramedic was taken to Vidant Medical Center via ground unit and escorted by KPD and LCSO. Investigations and crime lab responded to the scene and began investigating the incident. Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol also responded to the incident to assist with securing the crime scene. The paramedic, whose identity is being withheld at this time, was shot in the upper torso and arm area. As of Monday morning, the paramedic is in stable condition.
