Arendell Parrott Academy Congressional Art Winners

Congratulations to APA students, Ms. Kate Keenhold and Ms. Tien Le. 

Ms. Keenhold placed first in the Congressional Art Competition for the 3rd Congressional District. She won a cash award of $250 plus $450 from Southwest Airlines towards airfare for the National Reception in June in Washington, D.C. Her work will hang in the Cannon Tunnel in the U.S. Congress for one year. Each district in the U.S. sends a piece of student artwork for display. 

Tien Le place second in the Congressional Art Competition. Tien won a cash award of $150, and her work will hang in Congressman Murphy’s Washington, D.C. office for one year. 

There were nine schools that entered the competition from Craven, Onslow, and Lenoir County. This is the third consecutive year that APA has won the competition.

Ms. Kate Keenhold is from New Bern and Ms. Tien Le is from Trenton.
