KPD's Violent crime action team apprehends wanted fugitive

Members of the KPD's Violent Crime Action Team were patrolling the area of Mitchell Wooten and observed David Fleming on the porch of a residence. They were aware Fleming had multiple warrants and was also wanted by the US Marshalls for federal probation violations. After watching Fleming walk into a residence, detectives conducted a knock and talk. Fleming answered the door and surrendered without incident.

Fleming was placed in the LC Jail under a federal detainer and was remanded back into federal custody.

A search warrant was obtained and served at the residence. During the search officers located narcotics and a firearm. The Violent Crime Action Team will confer with the US Attorney's Office in reference to a Federal Firearm by Felon Charge.
