Milton Dale Warner passed away August 24, 2023, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC. He was born January 5, 1935, in Asheville, NC, to Milton Edward and Marie Pennington Warner. Dale graduated from Wofford College, where he lettered in tennis and basketball. He was called to active duty in 1957 to serve his country in the US Navy and was released from the US Naval Reserve in 1961. Dale moved to Kinston in 1960 as a sales representative for Schering. In 1969 he transitioned to Interstate Securities and, three years later, opened an office in Goldsboro and moved his family there. He then returned to Kinston upon his retirement in 2000.

He was affectionately known as “Daddy Dale” by family, friends, and his community. In retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his family and volunteering at Mary’s Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army, and reading to the children of Northwest Elementary. He loved spending time at Atlantic Beach with family and going to Bible Study. He was always active – tennis in his youth, followed by golf and badminton, and kept going to the gym until the end.

He is survived by his wife, Anne Mitchell Warner, as well as his daughter, Wooten Warner Underwood (Willis) of Goldsboro, NC, his son Milton Dale (Dee) Warner, Jr. (Sarah) of Kinston, NC, and grandchildren Warner Underwood Lambeth (David), Willis Boykin Underwood IV, Milton Dale Warner III and Lillian James Warner, and two great grandchildren David Thomas Lambeth IV and Elizabeth Wooten Lambeth. He is also survived by Anne’s children, Molly Anne Templeton (John) of Asheville, NC, Mary Kathyrn Desjardins (Lee) of Tulsa, OK, and Sarah Tyson Schremp (Greg) of Greenville, NC, and grandchildren Hannah Grace Schremp, James Joseph Templeton, Eloise Elizabeth Templeton, and Baylee Elisabeth Schremp. He was a great husband, an amazing father, an adoring grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a friend to all.

He is predeceased by his loving wife of 38 years, Carolyn Wooten Warner.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorials be made to the Kitty Askins Hospice Center of Goldsboro or the Salvation Army of Kinston, where Dale served as board member for more than 20 years.
