New Store "Tarheel Trading Post" to open on October 1, 2023
A new store, "Tarheel Trading Post," is set to open its doors at 204 N Herritage Street on October 1, 2023, aiming to offer a variety of North Carolina-based products. Owned by Brandon Corey, the store will feature a range of items sourced from within the state.
"North Carolina has so much to offer, and I wanted to create a space where people can find a curated selection of products that truly capture the essence of our state,” said Corey.
Corey, who previously owned Bubba’s Smokehouse and currently owns House of Ink Tattoo and Piercing, brings his diverse experience to this venture. His store will house products such as clothing, BBQ sauces, seasonings, and food items, all made in North Carolina. An interesting aspect of the store is the inclusion of a wine bar where visitors can taste local wines and purchase bottles to take home. Corey plans to collaborate with local wineries like Duplin Winery and Hinnant Vineyards to offer a selection of wines from around the state.
"We're aiming to create an experience where people can discover the best of North Carolina under one roof,” said Corey. “Whether it's unique merchandise like hand-crafted shirts with custom designs, or a selection of grills and grilling accessories, our goal is to celebrate the diversity and creativity of North Carolina."
In addition to showcasing local products, Tarheel Trading Post will also offer grilling accessories and merchandise from nearby schools and sports teams. Corey aims to provide a platform for local businesses to feature their products.
The store's strategic location near the heart of downtown Kinston positions it well to attract customers, particularly during events like the annual BBQ Fest on the Neuse. Corey hopes to create a space that reflects the diversity and creativity of North Carolina's offerings.
As the opening date approaches, Tarheel Trading Post stands as a potential hub for residents and visitors to explore a variety of North Carolina products and unique collaborations.
