Help wanted: Lenoir County Health Department - Animal Control Supervisor I

As a member of the Lenoir County Government Health Department, you can make a difference! The Health Department is seeking candidates for an Animal Control Supervisor I. Candidates work involves enforcing the Animal Control Ordinance and North Carolina State Law that pertains to rabies control, animal cruelty and vicious animals. Must be able to communicate effectively with citizens of the County and City regarding complaints concerning animal bites, strays, nuisances’ animals etc. Employees in this classification serve as a resource to Animal Control Officers as well as community partners.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED and four years’ experience in law enforcement , including two years as an Animal Control Officer; or an equivalent training and experience.

• Ability to handle excited or aggressive animals

• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

• Pass a background check

Hiring Range: $38,379.69-$58,399.24
