Mrs. Lannie Jones Dozier, age 88, passed away Tuesday afternoon, September 26, 2023, at her home. A native of Greene County, she was born September 23, 1935, the daughter of Johnny and Annie Sugg Jones.

A consummate homemaker, Mrs. Dozier had lived abroad with her husband during his military career in the US Army before returning to Snow Hill where they resided until her death. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Dozier on April 19, 2023; a son, Anthony Martina Dozier; and siblings, Ella Grant, Alma Tilghman, Lena Goff, Lucy Grant, Mabel Harrison, Johnnie Jones, and Emmett Jones.

She is survived by her daughter, Annie Irene Dozier; son, Walter J. Dozier, Jr; grandchildren, Jessie Anton Shervey and Chrisopher Douglas Shervey; and a sister, Christine McKinley.

Funeral services will be held graveside 2 PM Sunday, October 1st, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with Allen Harrison officiating. The family will greet friends and extended relatives immediately following the service.
