Vernon Avenue undergoes $2.3M sewer improvement project
Kinston City Manager Rhonda Barwick provided the following information on the roadwork being done on Vernon Avenue:
“The work is sewer utility improvements being performed by the City's contractor, Herring Rivenbark. Right now they are working on point repairs - individual issues along the system but afterward they will begin pipe lining work. The project is estimated to cost $2.3 million and is funded by ARPA and Sewer Fund dollars. You will see the contractor move block to block as he makes the repairs and we estimate the project to be completed in August, 2024.
After the utility work is completed, NCDOT will schedule resurfacing of Vernon Avenue.”
