DKR, a non-profit organization dedicated to the area's growth and rejuvenation, has planned the concert to not only celebrate Independence Day but also to highlight the ongoing efforts to make downtown Kinston a destination for music, food, and fun.

“We are excited to announce the return of our annual Pearson Park July 4th concert,” said DKR Executive Director Leon Steele. “We are also excited to have the fireworks display at the park again this year. Having one of North Carolina’s top bands, North Tower, perform again is a real treat.”

This year's musical entertainment will be provided by North Tower Band, a renowned party band that has been energizing crowds across the south for over 40 years. Known for their dynamic performances covering Top 40 hits, beach music, funk, and oldies, North Tower's involvement promises an unforgettable evening.

“The stars aligned for this to happen and we are grateful,” said Steele. “We look forward to seeing all the music lovers and dancers at Pearson Park enjoying this famous band and spectacular fireworks in celebration of our priceless freedom and independence.”

The concert and fireworks are part of a larger initiative by DKR to utilize Community Economic Development and Placemaking methodologies. By hosting such events, the organization aims to draw attention to the potential of downtown Kinston as a lively and attractive area for both residents and visitors.
