Kinston Police arrest suspect in armed burglary on Hwy 258 N

On Monday, January 1, 2024, members of the Kinston Police Department responded to a residence on the 1500 block of Hwy 258 N. Kinston, N.C., in reference to a reported 1st degree Burglary. The homeowner advised that the suspect entered the residence while the occupants were asleep and stole several items. The homeowner provided surveillance video that showed the suspect, Dustin Snyder, 36, of Kinston, enter the residence with a firearm before stealing firearms and misc. items.

Investigators with the Kinston Police Department conducted a follow-up investigation, which resulted in a search warrant being served at Snyder’s residence on the 4500 block of Hwy 58 N. Kinston, N.C. The Search Warrant was executed by members of the Kinston Police Department SWAT Team and the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Special Response Team. During the search, officers seized several firearms and additional property that was taken during the break-in.

Snyder was also arrested during the search and charged with First-degree Burglary, Larceny after Breaking and Entering, Larceny of a Firearm, and Safecracking. He was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
