Kinston man arrested in Cary for armed robbery in Grifton
A Kinston man was arrested in Cary Monday for an armed robbery of a man in Grifton on Saturday.
Robert Ontyerio Brown, 25, was taken into custody by Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office detectives and the Cary Police Department without incident Monday on a traffic stop in Cary.
The arrest was the result of an investigation that started Saturday when LCSO deputies were dispatched to the 3800 block of Leland Road in Grifton. A large crowd was gathered in the roadway where a man reported he was robbed at gunpoint. LCSO detectives investigated the case and obtained warrants for Brown for felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiring to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Monday, LCSO detectives with the General Investigations Division developed a location on Brown in the Wake County city of Cary where he was arrested on a traffic stop with assistance from the CPD.
Brown was transported by LCSO detectives to the Lenoir County Detention Center, where he is housed with no bond due to being out on pretrial release.
