Arrest made after traffic stop near J's Place due to gun report

On October 20, 2024, B-Squad officers responded to reports of an individual carrying a firearm in the parking lot of J’s Place. Officers located a silver Jaguar associated with the call and initiated a traffic stop due to a motor vehicle violation.

Upon making contact with the driver, Courtney Foye (38 of Kinston), and passenger, Torel Sutton, it was discovered that both individuals were in possession of firearms. Mr. Sutton was issued a citation for carrying a concealed gun (CCG) and subsequently released.

Courtney Foye was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

• Carrying a Concealed Gun (CCG)

• Alteration, Destruction, or Removal of Serial Number

Mr. Foye was issued a secure bond and placed in the LC Jail.
