Bloom Nutrition, at 2908 W Vernon Avenue, a new health-focused beverage and snack shop, is set to open in Kinston with a grand opening on Saturday, offering a range of nutritious energy teas, meal replacement shakes, and protein snacks. The shop, located on Herritage Street, aims to provide healthier alternatives to sugary drinks and unhealthy meals.

Owner Dana Posey, a registered nurse at NOVA Behavioral Health in Kinston, was inspired to open Bloom Nutrition based on her own experiences. “Working as a nurse in Kinston, especially on the weekend, I always looked for healthier options for energy and meals,” Posey said. “I was tired of sugary coffees that made me crash and unhealthy options. I had been utilizing Herbalife nutrition products at home and I knew Bloom Nutrition would be a great addition to the community.”

Bloom Nutrition’s menu will include energy teas with plant-based ingredients designed to promote mental clarity and focus, as well as meal replacement protein shakes. “Our energy teas are fueled with aloe for digestive support and collagen for the hair, skin, and nails,” Posey explained. “We also offer clean, sustainable plant-based energy for mental focus and clarity, including Vitamins B6 and B12. Our protein shakes are full meal replacements with 21 vitamins and minerals and 24 grams of protein—they are delicious too!”

The store has already made its presence known in the community by setting up tables at local fitness centers, including the Kinston Community Center and Good Bodies gym, where they offered free samples of their products. Bloom Nutrition plans to remain active in the community with future vendor setups, store events, and social gatherings.

The grand opening, scheduled for later this month, will feature a giveaway of protein donuts to the first 50 customers. Posey, who will be managing the store Monday through Friday, will be joined by local part-time employee Macausey Bedell. Support will also come from their sister location, Rize, in Richlands, N.C., owned by Lavonne Speight.

Posey emphasized the importance of building a welcoming atmosphere at Bloom Nutrition. “Our goal is to reach many people in and around the community, serving them with clean energy and nutritious meal replacement shakes,” she said. “We want to make lots of meaningful connections and relationships with each and every one of our customers. We want to recognize and call everyone by name when they walk in. We are so beyond excited for these relationships.”

Bloom Nutrition uses Herbalife products, which Posey noted are the #1 health shakes in the world, and is set to bring new, healthy options to Kinston residents looking for energy and nutrition throughout their day.
