Search warrant execution results in arrest

KPD’s B-Squad officers responded to a call from Kinston Housing Authority regarding a housekeeping inspection for one of their properties. During the inspection, staff discovered suspected illegal substances, including cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Officers secured and executed a search warrant with the assistance of the Department of Adult Corrections, resulting in the seizure of approximately 6 grams of cocaine, digital scales, marijuana, and various packaging materials indicative of narcotics distribution.

Mario Flowers (37 of Kinston) was taken into custody and charged with the following offenses:

• Possession With Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine (PWISD)

• Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance

• Drug Paraphernalia (two counts)

The Kinston Police Department remains committed to maintaining public safety and combating drug-related offenses. Anyone with information regarding illegal activities in the area is encouraged to report it to law enforcement.
