Help Wanted: Animal Control Officer

As a member of the Lenoir County Government Health Department, you can make a difference! The Health Department is seeking candidates for an Animal Control Officer. Candidates work involves enforcing the Animal Control Ordinance and North Carolina State Law that pertains to rabies control, animal cruelty and vicious animals. Must be able to communicate effectively with citizens of the County and City regarding complaints concerning animal bites, strays, nuisances’ animals etc.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED with two years of law

enforcement experience including one year as

an Animal Control Officer; or an equivalent

combination of training and experience.

• Ability to handle excited or aggressive animals

• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

• Pass a background check
