North Carolina Baroque Orchestra Joins Kinston/Lenoir Community Chorus for Messiah
The North Carolina Baroque Orchestra (NCBO) is thrilled to collaborate once again with the Kinston/Lenoir Community Chorus for a performance of Handel’s Messiah on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m., under the direction of Jane Cain.
NCBO, a nonprofit organization, is comprised of professional musicians who specialize in historically informed performances of Baroque-era music. Their dedication to authenticity makes them a perfect complement to this iconic choral work.
The Kinston/Lenoir Community Chorus, preparing for its 24th performance of Messiah, features over 50 singers from Lenoir and surrounding counties. The concert will also showcase four operatic soloists, promising an unforgettable experience for the audience.
The event will be held at First Presbyterian Church, located at 2101 N. Herritage St. in Kinston. Admission is free, and donations are gratefully accepted. Organizers emphasize that the performance is open to everyone, aiming to enrich the community both spiritually and culturally.
“We believe Messiah should be accessible to all, regardless of economic status,” organizers said. “You don’t want to miss this performance. It is impossible not to love it and be profoundly moved by it.”
