A man already incarcerated at the Lenoir County Jail received an additional felony charge on Thursday of selling a vehicle that wasn’t his.

Anthony Deon Best, 48, of Kinston, was charged with obtaining property by false pretense after the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Knightdale Police Department of a stolen vehicle that was sold at Martin Metals, a scrapyard in Lenoir County. The sale took place on April 24 and the vehicle was reported stolen from Knightdale on May 9.

The Knightdale Police Department was notified by the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles License and Theft Bureau of the crime. Best was given a $10,000 secured bond.
