Help Wanted: Senior Personal Property Appraiser

As a member of the Lenoir County Government Tax Department, you can make a difference! The Tax Department is seeking candidates for a Senior Personal Property Appraiser. Candidates work involves planning, organizing, and directing the work of the Personal Property Division. This position manages processes and timelines required by statutes for individual personal property and business personal property taxation; hires, trains, evaluates and handles disciplinary and other personnel actions for personal property staff. Candidates for employment must be comfortable with providing leadership, coaching and training tools for the overall growth and development for members of the division. Employees in this classification must use considerable tact, courtesy, analysis, judgement and initiative.

Minimum Requirements:

• Combination of education and experience equivalent

to an Associate’s Degree

• Ability to obtain certification from the N.C. Department

of Revenue as a Personal Property Appraiser within two

years of employment.

• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.

• Pass a criminal background check.

Hiring Range: $47,930-$55,586
