Juveniles to be arrested after making threatening calls
Juvenile students from Kinston High School will have charges pressed against them for making a threatening call to North Lenoir High School.
Thursday around 1 p.m., officials at North Lenoir received an anonymous call from unknown subjects threatening the school. The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office was notified and started an investigation; the LCSO also increased its deputy presence at the school to ensure safety.
The investigation revealed the callers were juvenile students at KHS. It was determined the students posed no credible threat to the safety at North Lenoir.
Criminal charges will soon be filed against the juveniles for communicating threats of mass violence on educational property.
Sheriff Jackie Rogers and the LCSO would like to thank the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the quick identification of the source of the threat.
