Help wanted: Lenoir County Government Tax Department - Personal Property Appraiser
As a member of the Lenoir County Government Tax Department, you can make a difference! The Tax Department is seeking candidates for a Personal Property Appraiser. Candidates work involves performing technical, analytical, and administrative work in appraising individual and business personal property for assessment purposes. Candidates for employment must be comfortable with providing information to the public on tax laws and policies, researching and processing appeals of value and maintain accurate database files. Employees in this classification must use considerable tact, courtesy, analysis, judgement and initiative.

Minimum Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent; one year experience in real estate or coursework in real estate.
• Ability to obtain certification from the N.C. Department of Revenue as a Personal Property Appraiser within two years of employment.
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Pass a criminal background check.
