Greene County Intermediate School Names Teacher of the Year

Snow Hill- Greene County Intermediate School recently named Nadine DeLallo, 4th and 5th Grade Math Interventions as their Teacher of the Year. DeLallo joined the staff in 2014 and has been at GCIS for most of her career. 

DeLallo, a retired police officer from Connecticut has been teaching for the past 18 years. She attended Western Connecticut State University and majored in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She transitioned from Criminal Justice to Education 18 years ago. She shared that what she loved about teaching most of “all is exposing my students to things and opportunities that get them excited about learning. My main focus is to prepare them for life as well as opportunities that they never considered, or thought were possible.” 

She went on to share that she loves teaching. She has a deep connection with her current and former students and shared that she “loves them and teaching.” When asked what her goals were she shared that she wanted to continue inspiring young minds and that she tries to share with everyone that “Life will take you to amazing places if you have the courage to try.”

When not teaching or serving her school Mrs. DeLallocan be found enjoying life with her husband of 32 years Bob and their two dogs, Bailey and Stormy who keep us busy. Her husband and she enjoy playing golf, traveling, and watching our UCONN Husky men's/women’s basketball teams.

The DeLallo have 1 daughter, Jaimson who is a 2nd grade teacher at West Greene Elementary School. Mrs. DeLallowill move on to the county-level competition which the winner will be announced sometime in May.
