Man charged with discharging a firearm in the city the same day he purchased the gun.

KPD's B-Squad responded to a shots fired call in the area of 800 Airport Road. As officers approached the area, they heard several shots close to their location. Officers observed Devon Suggs (28 of Kinston) walking from a wooded area the shots came from. Suggs was in possession the of the firearm and he was taken into custody for discharging a firearm in the city limits. Officers seized his firearm and collected over 40 shell casings. They also discovered Suggs had purchased the firearm early that day.
