Help Wanted: Deputy Register of Deeds
As a member of the Lenoir County Register of Deeds department, you can make a difference! The Register of Deeds is seeking candidates for a Deputy Register of Deeds. An employee in this classification works with requests and information required by the public and/or indexing, filing, and recording of documents and files. Work includes releasing information to the public and
conducting research regarding various licenses, records, and legal actions. Work requires accuracy in details and a sound knowledge of the general statutes governing the Register of Deeds Office. Initiative and judgment are required in performing duties within general statutes and prescribed policies.

Minimum Requirements:
• Graduation from high school including business
courses and administrative experience dealing with the
public; or an equivalent combination of education and
experience. Preference given to persons with some
college education and experience or knowledge of the
electoral process.
• Demonstrates tact and professionalism when
responding to a wide range of questions.
• Possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
• Pass a criminal background check.
