Obituary: William Lee “Bill” Jenkins

William Lee “Bill” Jenkins, 79, of Deep Run, NC passed away at Kitty Askins, Goldsboro, NC on Saturday, August 17, 2024. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Emmett Franklin Jenkins and Rosetta Howard Jenkins, sister, Louise Cannon, brothers, Millard Jenkins and Emmett “Twig” Jenkins, stepson, Patrick Jackson,

Bill graduated from Moss Hill High School, class of 1963. He loved his classmates and always enjoyed his class reunions. He was an avid golfer and won an array of awards and recognition. Bill also loved basketball and fishing. He worked as a powerhouse service operator at EI DuPont de Nemours company for thirty-seven years. He was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church of Jonestown, Pink Hill, NC.

Bill is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Daisy Howard Jenkins; daughters, Karen Jenkins Hodges and husband, Marcus of Kinston and Bonnie Jenkins Moore and husband, David of Hampstead; sister, Bertha Mae Krauss of Kinston; step daughter-in-law, Melodie Jackson of Seven Springs; sisters-in-law, Bobbie Jenkins of New Bern and Naomi Jenkins of Kinston; grandchildren, Jessica Grady (Brian), Tanner Taylor and wife Julie, Walter Moore and one great grandchild, Ivee Aurora Martinez and several nieces and nephews he dearly loved.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 6:00 pm at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Jim Williams presiding. Visitation to follow the funeral service. A burial will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
