Pink Hill- Sharon Lee King, 73, died peacefully at home on July 29, 2024. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sharon was born in Kinston, NC and worked many years at J&R Shirt Factory and later at Rayovac. She enjoyed cooking for her family, caring for her beloved pets and she loved her grandchildren more than anything else in the world. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ivey King, her parents, Opal Baysden Lee and Stanley Lee, and special uncle, Herbert Lee.

Sharon is survived by her sons Scott Barnhill of the home and Lee Barnhill of Fairview, PA; grandchildren Beckham and Braylee Barnhill of Fairview, PA; brothers Randy Lee of Ayden and Steve Lee, and wife Lisa, of Greenville; sister Faye Tomes, and husband Ivan, of Kinston; sisters-in-law Kathy Lee of Greenville and Mildred Wallace of VA; several nieces and nephews, and long-time friends Gladys Sasser, and Joyce and Buddy Miller.

Services will be held at Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 4306 Pleasant Hill Road, Pink Hill, NC 28572 on Friday, August 16, 2024 with Pastor Lynn Maxwell officiating. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm with service to follow thereafter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Hill Christian Church, 4306 Pleasant Hill Road, Pink Hill, NC 28572 or to the Humane Society.
