Amazon’s distribution site in Kinston has continued their tradition of providing supplies for those who need it most in Lenoir County Public Schools this year.

On August 15th, Amazon delivered 150 packs of supplies and backpacks, worth $3,633 to district leaders ahead of the school year. These supplies will be distributed across the county to K-12 students in need. These students will be identified by teachers, school counselors, and administrators.

“Having the right school supplies is critical for student success,” said the district’s Public Information Officer, Rebecca McGann. “With these donations, I believe we have some students who are sleeping better at night knowing they have what they need to excel.”

LCPS Superintendent, Brent Williams, affirmed McGann’s excitement about the donation saying, “I want to thank the leaders of the local Amazon facility for the strong level of support that they continue to demonstrate for our students and our school system. We appreciate very much their partnership and their consistent willingness to do all that they can to enhance and strengthen our efforts to help our students to grow educationally and to thrive.”

Amazon’s donation is one of the largest supply donations LCPS has received this year. District leadership would also like to thank the community for any additional supplies that have been donated this year.
