Lenoir Community College (LCC) is thrilled to partner with Appalachian State University (ASU) on a new transfer initiative aimed at making the transfer process easy for LCC students who plan to attend ASU upon graduation. The Aspire Appalachian Pathway Program will ensure a seamless pathway for students after completing an Associate in Arts (AA), Associate in Science (AS), or an approved Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree at LCC. Benefits of the program include guaranteed admission, an assigned ASU advisor while attending LCC, early registration for premier transfer events at App State, and priority consideration for the Appalachian Excellence Scholarship valued at $1,000.

LCC representatives Dr. Rusty Hunt, Dr. Timothy Maddox-Fisher, Dr. Jarrett Whelan, and Mrs. Alexandra Ranieri attended a celebration of the signing at a recent App State football game on Thursday, September 19, in which representatives from other participating community colleges were also present to celebrate this milestone. LCC President Dr. Rusty Hunt joined other community college presidents on the App State field for a photo to commemorate the occasion (pictured). "We are excited for the many new opportunities this program will provide to our transfer students," said Dr. Hunt. "We look forward to celebrating our transfer students' successes as they pursue higher education at App State."

Students interested in joining this program must be continuously enrolled (fall and spring semesters) at LCC, be on track toward completion of an eligible two-year associate degree transfer program, or be an Early College or other innovative high school student to participate. Students should contact LCC's Director of Advising, Alexandra Ranieri, to submit an Aspire Appalachian intent form.
