On September 3, 2024 at approximately 11:07 pm, officers responded to a vehicle crash on Highway 258 North. Officers arrived on scene and located Daniel Cooley (49 of La Grange). Officers determined that Cooley was intoxicated, drove his vehicle down an embankment, struck a utility meter and a parked vehicle. Cooley was transported to UNC Lenoir for non life threatening injuries. Due to injuries and treatment, officers issued Cooley a citation for DWI.
