Shooting/ Attempted Murder Investigation 

On 01/24/2025 at 10:20 a.m. Officers with the Kinston Police Department, responded to the area of 2400  block of N. Herritage St. regarding a gunshot victim. The victim was taken to Vidant Medical Center via  ground unit. Investigations and crime lab responded to the scene and began investigating the incident.  

We believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no known danger to the community.  

This case is still under investigation. The Kinston Police Department places the highest priority on  investigating crimes of violence perpetrated in our city. Calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential and anonymous, and the caller may be eligible  for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
