Lenoir County man arrested on drug, traffic charges after attempted evasion
A Lenoir County man is behind bars following a traffic stop that led to multiple charges, including possession of drugs.
On Thursday, James Scott Boone, 45, of Lenoir County was pulled over by a Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) unit after he tried to evade arrest. Once detectives pulled him over, he gave a false name and information.
A subsequent search of Boone and his vehicle led to the discovery of methamphetamine and marijuana. He was booked into the Lenoir County Jail under these charges:
· Felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance
· Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
· Misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI controlled substance
· Misdemeanor resist/obstruct/delay
He also received citations for:
· Driving while license revoked
· No liability insurance
· Window tint violation
· Fictitious registration
· Drive/Allow MV no registration
Boone received a total of $105,000 secured bond for his charges and citations.
