Public Notice: Town of Pink Hill updating Wellhead Protection Plan
TOWN OF PINK HILL PUBLIC NOTIFICATION
The Town of Pink Hill, with assistance from the North Carolina Rural Water Association, is in the process of updating its Wellhead Protection Plan. This is a voluntary program intended to assist in protecting the Town’s water supply from contamination, and to identify vulnerable areas around our wells called "Wellhead Protection Area(s)." Another goal of this program is to make residents and businesses aware that chemicals and other pollutants spilled or dumped in the vicinity of the "Wellhead Protection Area(s)" can be drawn into the wells, possibly contaminating the Town’s drinking water supply.
A draft copy of the Wellhead Protection Plan is available for review and comment at the Pink Hill Town Hall. You are invited to review the plan available for 30 days starting on February 7, 2025 and submit any comments or suggestions to the Town of Pink Hill. All written comments will be reviewed by the Wellhead Protection Committee, and any suggestions or comments that may be beneficial will be incorporated into the plan.
If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the Town of Pink Hill at 252-568-3181.
