Traffic enforcement leads to arrest and multiple charges
On March 14, 2025, the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad conducted a checking station on the 800 block of Queen Street, leading to multiple violations being addressed. Our officers remain committed to ensuring the safety of our roadways and enforcing traffic laws.
Results from the Checking Station:
Possession of Schedule II Controlled Substance – 1
Simple Possession of Schedule VI Controlled Substance – 1
Driving While License Revoked (DWLR) – 4
No Operator’s License (NOL) – 6
Window Tint Violation – 1
No Registration Plate Displayed – 1
Insurance Violation – 1
Revoked Registration – 1
Expired Registration – 5
Arrests Made:
Andrea McCoy, 50, of Lenoir County was found operating a motor vehicle without a registration plate. During the investigation, KPD’s K9 Loki was deployed and alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of Cocaine. McCoy was arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a secured bond.
Following the checking station, officers initiated a traffic stop on David Taylor, 57, of Lenoir County for a motor vehicle violation. During the stop, officers observed narcotic violations, leading to an investigation. Taylor was subsequently arrested for:
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession with Intent to Sell/Deliver Methamphetamine
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Resisting a Public Officer
