On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, Edwards Funeral Home extended its gratitude to local first responders with a breakfast event. The gathering aimed to acknowledge and honor the tireless efforts of those who serve the community during times of crisis.

Justin Smith, the owner of Edwards Funeral Home, expressed his deep appreciation for the first responders' dedication. "We just appreciate all our first responders for what they do in serving our community in times of need and just wanted to give back to them just a little token of our appreciation.”

The breakfast event provided an opportunity for the first responders to come together, share a meal, and enjoy each other's company in a relaxed setting.

Kinston Police Department Major Brandon Turner highlighted the significance of the event. "It's just a good show of appreciation from Edwards Funeral Home. They give us an opportunity to get together and break bread and enjoy each other's company for a few hours.”

The event was held at the Edwards Funeral Home & Cremations, located at 702 North Queen Street. The funeral home, a respected establishment in the community, has consistently shown its commitment to fostering connections with local first responders and acknowledging their essential role.
