Kinston Detectives uncover altered fully automatic firearm in narcotics raid

Kinston Police Department posted the following on their Facebook page:

Detectives with KPD's Violent Crime Action Team concluded an investigation related to narcotics and firearms. The investigation led to the discovery of a handgun that had been altered to fire fully automatic, narcotics, and drug paraphernalia. Detectives arrested Octavius Yates at the scene for the following:

-Possession of Weapon of Mass Destruction

Warrants were obtained and served on Herring (while he was in custody of the the LC Jail) for the following:

-Possession With Intent to Sell Deliver Schedule VI
-Felony Possession of Schedule VI
-Felony Habitual Misdemeanor Assault (related to the previous incident)
