Obituary: Ruby Estelle Morton Pittman

Ruby Estelle Morton Pittman, 95, of Atlantic Beach formerly of Kinston passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at The Landings of Swansboro. She truly enjoyed flowers and gardening. Ruby was a seamstress for several years. She was a charter member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church here in Kinston. Ruby was an extremely loving mother, wife, and grandmother and she will be truly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Joseph Pittman, Jr.; brothers, Ivy Morton, Dwight Morton, Jimmy Morton, Archie Morton.

Ruby is survived by her daughter, Patricia P. Rouse and husband Marvin; sons, Ken D. Pittman and wife Rita, Steve C. Pittman and wife Jeanette; grandchildren, Clint Rouse and wife Jennifer, Mark Rouse and wife Jennifer, Brian Pittman and wife Aleisha, Sean Pittman, Tyler Pittman and wife Rachel, Michael Pittman; great-grandchildren, Lake Rouse and wife Alex, Rachel Rouse, Walker Rouse, Ryan Rouse, Lucas Pittman, Grayson Pittman, Delaney Pittman, Ollie Pittman; sisters; Sara Parker, Judy Timar, Connie Morton; brothers, Rodney Morton and Lonnie Morton.

The family would like to say a special thank you to The Landings of Swansboro and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care and help.

A visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Garner Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin after the visitation with Pastor Chris Truett officiating. The burial will be held following the funeral service at Westview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
