North Lenoir defeats Kinston handily in teams’ first game since Sept. 10
It’s been a while since North Lenoir had played on the soccer field, but picked up where the team left off.
The Hawks defeated Kinston 9-0 as both teams hadn’t seen the field since Sept. 10. North Lenoir (8-1-1) is now on a four-game winning streak and has outscored its opponents 32-3 in the timespan.
Taiwan Hines and Luis Henriquez each had hat tricks for North Lenoir with Jerrin Howell, Arnoldo Munoz and Carmen Enriquez scoring as well. Michael Moore and Carmen Enriquez had two assists each with Hines, Luis Cordova, Arnoldo Munoz, Jose Sanchez and Howie Richardson all adding assists.
Arendell Parrott falls to Cary Christian
CARY | Top-ranked Cary Christian played in the same manner Monday, defeating Arendell Parrott 8-0 at home.
Thomas Grubb and John Grice combined to make 13 saves for the Patriots (4-11) who were outshot 22-8.

Arendell Parrott defeats Cary Christian in a match of undefeated teams
CARY | Arendell Parrott kept its flawless start while ruining another team’s in the process.
The Patriots defeated Cary Christian 25-21, 26-24, 21-25, 25-15 in Monday’s matchup of the top two NCISAA teams. Cary Christian (18-1) was ranked No. 1 according to Maxpreps but Parrott (13-0) quelled the notion with strong play.
Alli Grant Avery led the way with 26 kills and five service aces , Mackenzie Pope had 16 kills and 30 assists and Virginia Edmondson added 13 assists.

Arendell Parrott boys finish second in conference meet
ROCKY MOUNT | Arendell Parrott’s boys finished second in Monday’s Coastal Rivers Conference meet at Rocky Mount Academy.
Lucas Ouano led the way for the Patriots, finishing with a time of 19:02, second to Rocky Mount Academy’s Henry Forrester (18:51). The Eagles ended up winning the match, as APA had one other top-10 finisher in Will Connolly, who finished seventh.
The APA girls’ team didn’t have enough runners to compete as a team, but Emily Piwowarski finished sixth and Mary Paul took eighth in the race.
