SBA deadline extended for Florence-related loans

The deadline to apply for physical disaster damages has been extended in North Carolina areas afflicted by Hurricane Florence.

The U.S. Small Business Administration announced businesses and individuals with physical damage caused by the storm in afflicted areas can apply for SBA low-interest disaster loans by Dec. 13. Greene, Jones and Lenoir counties are among those eligible.

Applicants can apply online at disasterloan.sba.gov and additional information can be found on the website or the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955. Loan applications can be downloaded from sba.gov and mailed to 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

Jones County’s FEMA/SBA Disaster Recovery Center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and located at the Jones County Civic Center in Trenton.

The FEMA Teleregistration number to call is 1-800-621-3362 and the SBA Customer Service Center is 1-800-659-2955. Both numbers are operational from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
