RICHLANDS - John Leslie Rouse, 62, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018. John was born January 19, 1956 in Onslow County to the late William Forrest “Bill” Rouse and Eva Lott “Merle” Rouse.
A hardworking, dedicated employee, John worked in construction for one company in a career that spanned over forty years. His coworkers were like family and he cultivated many lifelong friendships. During his time there he saw the name change from Barrus, Apac, and finally to Barnhill Construction Company.
Family was most important to John, he took great pride in caring for his sister and niece. He always enjoyed good food and fellowship at family gatherings.
John enjoyed watching American Pickers, antique car shows, NASCAR, and his beloved N.C. State Wolfpack. One who liked keeping busy, John relished moments spent tinkering on his red tractor.
A time of visitation and fellowship will be held Friday, December 21, 2018 from 12 -1 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
John is survived by his sister, Donna Rouse Riggs; niece, Lauren Riggs; along with a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and co-workers. In addition to his parents, two siblings, Jennifer Gail Rouse and Billy Rouse, preceded John in death.
