While the same group is slated for the Lenoir County Board of Commissioners, another local board brought in a pair of neophytes.
Greg Rouse and Chris Smith were sworn in Monday at the Lenoir County Courthouse as members of the Lenoir County Soil and Water Conservation Board. Although the two are first-time members, both are excited to assist the area in their new positions.
Smith said he’s thankful for the support of the citizens and has been humbled throughout the process.
“It means a lot,” Smith said. “I’m honored to take this position and I’m happy to do whatever I can to help the area I love.”
Rouse said his focus will be toward helping move the board forward.
“I hope to do a good job for the citizens of Lenoir County,” Rouse said. “I hope to be beneficial to the area and do right by the best of my abilities.”
