KPD arrests man on breaking and entering charges

A man was arrested Monday on a plethora of charges related to breaking and entering incidents in Kinston, Lenoir County and Greenville.

Jasper Williams was placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center after receiving 34 charges ranging from breaking into a motor vehicle (16 counts) to 11 counts of larceny after breaking into a motor vehicle. He was also charged with breaking into a residence, larceny after breaking into a residence, driving with license revoked, possession of stolen goods, possession of burglary tools and several drug possession counts.

His arrest came after officers from the Kinston Police Department executed a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle on Towerhill Road Monday morning. He was placed in jail under $75,000 of secured bonds.

The KPD also arrested the passenger of the vehicle, Ivie McCorkle on five charges, including two drug possession charges. She was placed in jail under a $15,000 secured bond.
