Lenoir/Greene United Way to kick off annual campaign Thursday

The Lenoir/Greene United Way will kick off its annual fund campaign Thursday. The kickoff event will be in conjunction with the Summerfest concert that evening downtown in Pearson Park. United Way staff will be handing out information on the agencies they support as well as free T-shirts to attendees. Neuse News Editor Bryan Hanks, a United Way board member, will be the emcee of Thursday's event.

“We are looking forward to a great year at Lenoir/Greene United Way and appreciate the many businesses and individuals who faithfully support us each year," said Molly Taylor, Executive Director of Lenoir/Greene United Way. "Please join us on Aug. 23 for a night of great music and entertainment!

"We want to especially thank Pride of Kinston for partnering with us on launching our campaign year.”

In addition to the campaign launch, Lenoir/Greene United Way is also supporting a new theme for the year: We Can Do It Together

“Our theme symbolizes the unity of our communities, the impact we all make when working together," Taylor said. "We know through the heritage and legacy of the leaders before us and the energy and optimism of our current leaders – United Way will certainly continue to support and develop our communities to their fullest potential.”

Lenoir/Greene United Way is a local affiliate of United Way Worldwide serving the two counties of Lenoir and Greene. The 501c3 nonprofit organization has a long history of serving our communities’ needs, specifically in the areas of education, health and financial stability as well as disaster preparedness.
