LCC trailed by 22 points at halftime and by as many as 36 in the second half as the Lancers lost for the 12th consecutive time in a 96-67 setback to Louisburg College at the Sportatorium Wednesday night.

The Lancers, who haven’t won since a 105-86 victory at Patrick Henry Community College on Nov. 17, dropped to 6-13 overall, 3-9 in Region X. They trailed 47-25 at halftime and 67-31 with 13:39 left in the game.

LCC eventually battled back to get the lead down to 21 at 81-60 but that’s as close as the Lancers could get to the Hurricanes (8-10, 3-6). Andrew Abrom, a sophomore guard from Garner, led Louisburg with 16 points, while the trio of Weston McKenney, Jordan Beale and Todd Smith had 15 each for the Hurricanes.

The Hurricanes were particularly effective from behind the 3-point arc, where they buried 12 3s in the first half and seven in the second half.

The Lancers, who also surrendered more than 100 points for the third straight game and fourth time in five contests, were led by sophomore forward Kristian Williams’ 13 points. The Lancers’ freshman trio of Daiquon Roberts, Tyler Wilson and Jason Robinson had 12 points apiece while sophomore guard Eric Agee added 11.

LCC’s eight-game homestand continues Saturday at 3 p.m. when the Lancers entertain Patrick Henry CC.
