UPDATE 1/31/2019: Kinston Police: Arrests made, warrants issued

On January 30, 2019, officers from the Kinston Police Department and members of the United States Marshal Task Force arrested Koran Smith in Kinston. Later in the day, Porsha Moore was also arrested in Kinston for her involvement in the case. Both subjects received a $1,000,000 secured bond and were placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center. On November 5, 2018, Tayvon Hawkins of Goldsboro was shot near the 900 block of E. Washington Avenue in Kinston. Hawkins was transported to UNC-Lenoir by EMS to receive treatment for injuries sustained from a gunshot wound. Tayvon Hawkins was later transported to Vidant Medical Center where he recovered from his injuries. 

On November 29, 2018, arrest warrants were obtained for Antonio Jaquan Moore, Anthony Jamaal Lee and Quincy Hargett for their involvement in the shooting incident. On November 30, 2018, Antonio Jaquan Moore and Quincy Hargett were each arrested by members from the Kinston Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Task Force. Both subjects were charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, AWDWIKISI and Conspiracy to commit Murder. Antonio Jaquan Moore and Quincy Hargett were placed in the Lenoir County Detention under a $500,000 secured bond.

Update in the case

On December 7, 2018, Anthony Jamaal Lee was arrested in Goldsboro by the Goldsboro Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Service and placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond.

Update in the case

On January 22, 2019, arrest warrants were issued for the following subjects for Felony Conspiracy, Attempted Murder and AWDWIKISI – in reference to this case:

On January 24, 2019, Cyneicha Butler was arrested in Kinston by the Kinston Police Department and placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond. Also on January 24, 2019, Cynthia Session was arrested in Kinston by the Kinston Police Department and the U.S. Marshal Service and placed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 secured bond.   

On January 27, 2019, Shelby Sutton was arrested in Sharpsburg by the Sharpsburg Police Department and placed in the Nash County Detention Center under a $750,000 secured bond.

This case is still under investigation.
